About:
Hampton Street Elementary School in the Mineola Union Free School District partnered with local orthodontists Dr. Weiss and Dr. Luccarelli to collect unwanted wrapped Halloween candy for a buy back fundraiser. Hampton earned $1 per pound of collected candy and the orthodontists made a matching donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The collection is distributed to various local organizations such as Island Harvest and Northwell NUMC. Hampton collected 57 pounds of candy and proceeds will benefit Hampton families in need this holiday season.
